Describe yourself using a book title: It depends on which hat I’m wearing. As a librarian, Book Woman of Troublesome Creek probably describes me best. Providing patrons with information at the point-of-need is my ultimate goal. I like to look for creative ways to meet information needs outside of the four walls of the library. As a parent, I’m attempting to convince my children that French Kids Eat Everything and that they should too!

What’s the best thing about being a librarian? For me, the best thing about being a librarian is the ability to work with a variety of people and to learn (both good and bad) from the experiences. Having worked at a variety of libraries over the years, I have been blessed to work with many great colleagues and customers and have loved learning about their lives and sharing my life with them.

Connecting people with resources (people, print, electronic, counseling, training, etc.) to help them go beyond what they envisioned for their areas of interest or expertise. What’s the best thing about being a librarian? I really enjoy being able to help people connect with a subject, particularly students. To listen to them talk about a subject and then be able to direct them to the right resource or topic to help encourage them to go deeper and learn more is always a great feeling.
